Electronic Security EngineerPosition Overview:We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Electronic Security Engineer to support the design, documentation, and deployment of enterprise-level security systems. This role requires expertise in access control, door interlocks, handicap entrances, and large-scale security system deployments. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and serve as a technical resource for field technicians.
Key Responsibilities:System Design & Documentation:- Develop and verify bill of materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy before procurement and deployment.
- Create point-to-point wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, and system layouts for security projects.
- Compile and prepare submittal packages, including equipment specifications, system drawings, and compliance documents.
- Utilize CAD software for drafting system schematics (preferred but not required).
Technical Expertise & Project Support:Deep understanding and hands-on experience with:- Access Control Systems: Genetec, CCURE 9000, S2, Avigilon ACC, Brivo
- Video Surveillance Systems: Genetec, Milestone, Hanwha Wave, Avigilon, and other enterprise VMS platforms
- Controllers & Panels: Mercury-based controllers, iStar panels
- Intercom Systems: 2N, Aiphone, Comelit
- Intrusion Detection Systems: Honeywell, Bosch
- Biometric Access & Authentication Systems
- Handicap entrances, turnstiles, door interlocks, and high-security access solutions
- Ensure system deployments align with enterprise-level security requirements and industry standards.
- Work closely with project managers, installers, and vendors to ensure proper system functionality and installation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with field technicians and support teams.
Compliance & Standards Enforcement:- Ensure system designs adhere to UL 294, NFPA, ADA, and local security regulations.
- Review installations to confirm compliance with project specifications and industry best practices.
- Assist in evaluating new security technologies and recommending system improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:Required:- Extensive knowledge of enterprise access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems.
- Hands-on experience with Genetec, CCURE 9000, S2, Avigilon, and Brivo.
- Experience with handicap entrances, various types of door locks, interlocks, gate controls, and high-security access solutions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and security system diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail in preparing BOMs, submittal packages, and system documentation.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills to serve as a technical resource for field technicians.
Preferred:- Experience with CAD for point-to-point diagrams and risers.
- Familiarity with enterprise-level security system deployments.
- Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, relays, and power supply configurations.
