Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair several different access controls and security/camera systems, including, but not limited to, AXIS, Brivo, and Isonas. Systems can be IP-based, traditional, or integrated.
Technicians must pull, route, terminate, and test cabling and hardware connections to industry standards.
We are looking for an experienced Lead Technician who can train other technicians how to install Access Control, Special Systems, and Structured Cabling (network cable, composite cable, CAT5E, CAT6, Fiber, & Coax) with a knowledge of NEC as well as local and state install requirements.
Lead technicians must own small tools (such as punch tools, snips, wire strippers, wire crimpers, screwdrivers, socket sets, drill, drill bits, hole saws, PPE, etc.) to complete a typical install.
Install support structures, including cable trays, ladder trays, racks, j-hooks, inner ducts, and other structures when needed. Conduct thorough inspections of cabling and hardware to ensure the system meets industry standards.
Technicians must have a high level of manual dexterity and a strong background in math and science. They also need to be good communicators and should be able to solve problems independently.
Requirements:
- 7+ years installing access control/ security surveillance systems in commercial settings.
- Computer skills, including MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record.
- Current OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred).
- Current Scissor lift/ forklift certification (preferred).
- Reads and understands blueprints.
- Manufacturers Installers Certifications are preferred.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening (possibly random).
