Title: Electronic Access Control Field Technician
Department: Field Electronics Install
Pay Status: Exempt
Reports To: Field Project Manager
Job Summary
The technician will perform installations and service of electronic control systems which may include door access control, CCTV, low voltage communication and networking including cable management, electronic locks, Wi-Fi locks, network switches and associated hardware. As an access control technician, this person is expected to be self-motivated, self-managed and have the ability to lead a team.
Essential Functions
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally team lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds
- Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Frequently required to push/pull a ladder, ascend and/or descend ladder while holding awkward sized items
- Occasionally required to sit, climb and balance while on installing equipment
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
Job Functions
- Provide Access Control Installation, Service and Maintenance
- Install and terminate cable
- Work with various tools and power tools
- Know and understand cable management, door controllers and magnetic locks on an expert level
- Know and understand how to install key pads, badge readers and crash bars on an expert level
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong troubleshooting skills and excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to read and interpret Construction prints
- Must be mechanically inclined and have Electrical experience
TRAVEL
- Position is 100% travel focused in Texas
- May be required to travel to other areas as needed
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
- Possess or have ability to obtain proper state licensing once hired (Low Voltage B license, Alarm Installer Lic. etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the physical security, fire alarm or low voltage communication industry installing fields
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience running medium to large sized jobs in industry
- Certifications of one or more of the following is a plus

- Axis
- Linear
- Door King
- Paxton
- Keyscan
