Our team consists primarily of engineers, and we are looking for a VP Sales and Customer Development as our first dedicated sales hire. Initially, we are targeting sales within a 2-hour radius of Ashburn, VA, with plans to expand nationally. Role Description
As the first sales hire, you will play a pivotal role in driving our revenue growth by selling complete security solutions, including both hardware and VMS software. You’ll be responsible for building relationships with local businesses, managing the end-to-end sales process, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You'll collaborate closely with our engineering team and partners to deliver tailored security solutions that meet customer needs. As sales grow, there will be opportunities for travel and expanded outreach efforts, allowing you to play a key role in our national growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Sales Efforts: Manage the entire sales process from prospecting to closing, focusing on selling a full security solution that includes hardware and VMS software. Initially, target customers within a 2-hour radius of Ashburn, VA.
- Customer Development: Engage with potential and existing customers to understand their security needs, gather feedback, and work with our engineering and partner teams to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Sales Strategy: Collaborate with leadership to define and execute a scalable sales strategy, with a focus on both local sales and future national expansion.
- Market Research: Identify potential customers, local industry trends, and market opportunities. Develop targeted sales strategies based on research.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction, identify upsell opportunities, and drive long-term partnerships.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team and VMS partners to align product offerings with customer needs and provide complete security solutions.
- Reporting and Analytics: Track sales metrics, forecast performance, and provide regular updates to the leadership team.
- Travel: Be open to travel as sales increase and outreach efforts expand beyond the local region.
- Trade Shows & Events: Represent Cube Access at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to generate leads and build relationships.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of sales or business development experience, preferably in commercial or industrial security products or software solutions.
- Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the business landscape within a 2-hour radius of Ashburn, VA, with a focus on selling security solutions.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to close deals, build relationships, and develop a sales pipeline, especially in selling comprehensive hardware and software solutions.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Passionate about understanding customer needs and providing complete security solutions tailored to those needs.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a startup environment, helping shape the sales function from the ground up.
- Technical Understanding: Ability to grasp the technical aspects of security devices and VMS solutions, and effectively communicate these to customers.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: Self-starter with a proactive approach to driving business growth.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with AXIS family security products and VMS solutions.
- Familiarity with security needs in commercial or industrial settings.
- Experience using CRM tools and sales automation software such as HubSpot and Sales Force.
