Responsibilities
The Director of Physical Security Technology is a key member of the Related Companies team within Related Companies Security organization. This organization is tasked with ensuring Operational facilities access control and VMS systems are operational. This individual will also assist in projects scopes of work, bid negotiation, invoice verification, and invoice allocation. The Director will partner with a team of experts to validate, coordinate, advise, test, and commission complex access control, bio metric, visitor management and video surveillance systems per Related Security policies and standards. This exciting opportunity provides the ability to leverage physical security subject matter expertise, project management skills and relationship building abilities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. The role is defined by ambiguous environments, quickly changing situations, and times where quick judgement and decision making under pressure are required to support complex operational projects. This position will be based in Hudson Yards, NY. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Leads multiple physical security design and implementation building projects while proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and developing contingency plans to mitigate risk
- Evaluates security-engineering drawings to validate security system components are properly integrated in the facility design
- Manages onsite Integrators priorities and ensuring delivery of contractual services
- Ensures projects are complete within the estimated budget, established timeline, and as designed while having the ability to course correct when needed without jeopardizing project completion
- Actively collaborate with Construction Team and IT to ensure security is integrated into operations. Provides sound, factual advice to Operations and Related Security Directors on security design and implementation processes
- Solves complex problems through detailed interaction with multiple Integrators, Manufactures and IT Support
- Performs site testing & commissioning functions to validate integrity of a newly installed security standard and ensure the system was built in accordance with Related Security standards
- Recognizes, adopts, utilizes and teaches “best practices” in the Physical Security Program, such as development of security frameworks, information security, security operations, security systems, policy, and response
- Demonstrates a strong preference for assisting the business with achieving its goals by always navigating a path to “yes” and “Solution is possible”
- Searches relentlessly for the root cause of enterprise challenges to understand the broader context. Validating Integrators responses to solutions
- Maintains understanding of the security threat environment and how it affects the Company
- Manages Engineer and support personnel
- Finds flaws in existing Company processes and procedures and work with the appropriate Security team to get them remediated
- Creates maintenance schedule on security equipment recommended to manufactures
- Monitors of Servers and Security end point device
Compensation
- $150,000 - $170,000 / year
- Annual performance based bonus
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working with Physical Security Principles and/or Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems
- 10+ years of experience implementing Physical Security Technology and devices as well as researching new/emerging Physical Security technology
- Industry leading expert, relative to your level, in Ccure, Salto, Genetec systems
- Physical Access Control Systems, methodology and applications
- Intrusion detection systems, methodology and applications
- Intercom systems, SIP configurations
- Physical Security hardware, methodology and applications
- Security Management and Monitoring Practices
- Physical Security Systems alignment with Info Security policies and procedures
- 2 way radio DAS/ Motorola system
- Experience in CISCO, Firewalls, TCP, Wireshark, troubleshooting methods
- Experience in performing physical security assessments of people, processes, and measures, including access control/intrusion detection and CCTV surveillance systems
- Experience in SOC environments support and Technology implementation
- Experience with interpreting technical drawings / architectural plans
- Proven record of accomplishment with Integrators and Security Manufactures
- Ability to communicate through oral and written communications effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Experience in presenting and communicating technical information to all stakeholders and high levels of management
- Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
