About The Role
Short Story is seeking an experienced
Frontend Engineer to join its remote engineering team in North America. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of critical web applications, including customer-facing portals and internal systems such as order and warehouse management. You will play a key role in shaping user experiences, ensuring responsive design, and mentoring junior developers while contributing to a high-performing startup culture.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain responsive web applications using ReactJS, NextJS, and React-Query
- Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, backend engineers, and product managers
- Implement UI designs from Figma using Tailwind CSS for consistent user experience
- Manage deployments on Netlify and participate in CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions
- Conduct A/B testing to improve customer engagement and UX performance
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews, promoting best practices
- Maintain code quality and consistency across platforms and browsers
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development with a strong focus on ReactJS and modern web technologies
- Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with NextJS and building scalable frontend applications
- Proficient in Tailwind CSS and responsive UI design principles
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Netlify deployment workflows
- Skilled in converting Figma designs into functional UI components
- Experience with SSR, SSG, and testing tools like Jest or React Testing Library is a plus
- Contributions to open-source or personal frontend projects are highly valued
