As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor to the design, performance, and reliability of the global trading network infrastructure. You will work closely with infrastructure, trading, and security teams to support both production and research environments, with a focus on automation, scalability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network design, implementation, and support of multi-vendor global trading network.
- Contribute to greenfield buildouts of colocation and proximity datacenters.
- Meet with stakeholders for project related items and identify key priorities.
- Manage multicast market data feeds for all exchanges and support algorithmic traders.
- Manage the firm’s security perimeter with Palo Alto firewall and be able to build site-to-site VPN tunnels and implement strict security policies.
- Support PTP and NTP timing infrastructure.
- Develop automation scripts to increase efficiency and identify areas of improvement.
- Configure F5 Local Traffic Manager and Global Traffic Manager for IP and DNS load balancing.
- Analyze packet captures using sniffers, tcpdump, and Wireshark.
- Document all aspects of the network.
- Monitor service-now user request queue and quickly adapt priorities based on severity.
- Enhance network monitoring.
- Global circuit capacity planning.
- Provide on-call support and troubleshooting of all things network.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in a financial services or low-latency trading environment.
- Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies.
- Significant implementation experience with Arista, Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Palo Alto
- Experience with AWS cloud networking.
- Experience using Linux.
- Proficiency in network automation and scripting (Python, Bash, Ansible, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
- Experience with Multicast, QoS, and WAN optimization is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally under pressure.
