Job Summary:
Represent Tilray’s beverage and alcohol portfolio. Drive market growth by working with our Distributors to actively manage annual business plans including volume, retail distribution and relevant, in-market events and promotions.
- Preferable candidate to be based out of NYC or any location around the area.
Salary range: USD $80k-105k annual + other perks and benefits
Car allowance is provided.
Responsibilities:
The scope of your work performance responsibilities as Area Sales Manager will be as follows but not limited to:
Winning at Wholesaler Management
- Meet monthly with key account managers at Wholesale level.
- Responsible for leading your Team to deliver against agreed upon performance measurables:
- Distribution / Depletions / in-Market execution / POS standards / budget management / program development and activation.
- Oversee, ROI Analysis of Wholesalers incentives and pricing.
- Utilize internal data such as VIP, PowerBI and innovation execution.
- Identify sales and distribution opportunities and set/track benchmarks for attainable distribution in all classes of trade.
- Training Team to effectively manage wholesalers.
- Oversee strategic growth of core brands, seasonals and allocated one off series.
Achieve in-Market Performance Standards
- Drive Team to achieve agreed upon standards of execution against brand initiatives.
- Partner with Marketing and Managers to plan and execute core marketing initiatives; leverage opportunities to general market consumer conversion to Tilray brands.
- Drive Team to achieve in-market activation and display execution during ads
- 95% during ads / 50% during TPR?s / 25% non-ad displays
- Conduct in-market work-withs to develop selling skill sets and survey in-market execution.
- Work with National Account Manager to integrate market specific On and Off-Premise programs.
- Oversee strategic growth of core brands and seasonals.
- Oversee strategic planning and launch of new products.
Coaching and Managing Channel Managers / Performance and Development
- Develop multi-faceted strengths of each Channel Manager by challenging them to exceed goals in both On and Off-Premise channels; support P2G processes, develop staff, etc.
- Weekly team meetings, constant evaluation, and continuous development
Leadership of Wholesaler Management Teams
- Training and conducting impactful / Wholesaler Team meetings, presentations, work-withs, ability to translate data.
- Coaching / developing selling skills acumen of Tilray brands.
- Managing ability to grow entire portfolio / Smart Incentives.
Facilitate New Product Launches
- Ensure proven business model launches are adhered to.
- Attend / oversee new product launch kick-off meetings.
- Monitor 30/60/90 day execution / distribution / sales goals.
Budget Management
- Stay within quarterly/annual T/E budgets statewide by Wholesaler and MDM.
- Analyze R.O.I. on programs and pricing.
Administration Details
- Completion of monthly admin tasks of work calendar, T&E report, VIP report analysis, weekly/monthly account visitation log and wholesaler programing.
- Provide Sales Director a monthly recap (Monthly Business Performance Review process) of sales and distribution measurables against goals and identify cure plan strategies to close gaps.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in Wholesaler Management
- 3-5 years of experience managing a team to successful completion of goals
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Work seamlessly with all departments within the organization, and an ability to build rapport with internal and external customers.
- Experience at having successfully developed and expanded retail and distribution in beverages
- Working knowledge, experience and ability to successfully manage customer accounts.
- Must understand the trends within your territory responsibilities; including who the competitors are, competitive pricing within your region, and market trends.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and superior negotiating abilities.
- Ability to successfully prepare and conduct customer presentations and meetings.
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and VIP.
- Customer service driven with the ability to execute, and deliver sales growth.
- Ability to travel domestically for work and visit accounts up to 50% of the time via plane, car, personal vehicle, etc.
- Involves frequent walking, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 25lbs.
