The Installation Technician II – Mission Critical Technologies will take lead on and support with repair/maintenance and the general installation of Mission Critical systems throughout New England, including but not limited to: Security(CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), A/V, & Wireless Communication.

Responsibilities Include

Perform low voltage cable installation, cable management, cable terminations, device installation, and other assigned project duties as required.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and/ or equipment as necessary.
Produce accurate documentation for the project as required including: system commissioning reports, Test Reports, As builts, system certification, etc.
Provide daily project status updates, as required, and communication to the Project Management team.
Summarize, report and present non-compliant attributes of a project, site, or system.
Think clearly and logistically to make accurate decisions based on personal and professional judgement and verifiable criteria.

Work Experience Requirements

Construction and/ or Industry experience required.
Experience Cabling, low voltage infrastructure & terminations per all applicable state, local codes and BICSI standards required.
Experience with Mission Critical Systems- Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), A/V, Wireless Communication required.
Experience with the following systems preferred: Genetec, DMP, Avigilon, Hirsch, Bosch, Milestone, Ceragon, Cambium, Siklu.
Experience with integrated security control systems (lock control) within Detention Facilities, Prisons, and Courts and other sensitive environments preferred.

Skills Requirements

Ability to independently lead/ manage medium to large sized Mission Critical projects.
Ability to read and interpret project scopes, one lines, floor plans, submittals, specifications, test reports and other related project documentation.
Proficient oral and written communication skills, especially working in occupied and sensitive environments.
Proficient in cabling best practices- running, supporting, and terminating category rated and multiconductor cabling.
Experience/ certified with Fire Stopping; must be able to fire-stop any penetrations made or found.
General understanding of computers and basic Microsoft Windows Applications.
General understanding of networking concepts (wired and wireless).
Demonstrate general skills required to configure and troubleshoot device connectivity (LAN and Internet access).
Proficient with low voltage crimp tools, testing tools (meters, toners, etc.) and the use of other construction related tools.
Ability to demonstrate persistence, tactfulness, and responsibility; maintain silence regarding confidential information; make decisions based on personal judgement and verifiable criteria; deal effectively with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instruction.
Demonstrate proficient skills to provide competent customer service using active listening and empathy during various interactions (i.e., in-person, phone, email, and chat).
Must be self-motivated and work well with others in a team environment.

Knowledge Requirements

Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience with the installation and commissioning of low voltage/ Data Communication systems including Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), Audio/Visual, and Wireless Communication.
Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience related to all job duties of this position is required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to see and hear clearly.
Must be able to distinguish between colors (naturally or with correction); speak clearly; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; coordinate eyes and hands rapidly and accurately, use hands to pull cables and wires, use power tools, and work in various positions.
Must be able to climb and maintain body balance utilizing ladders, lifts, scaffolding; lift, carry or push objects weighing up to 50 lbs; crouch, stand and/or walk carrying equipment for long periods of time.
Must be able to work in variety of temperature conditions throughout the calendar year; Safety clothing, equipment/ PPE expected at all times.

Education/Licenses/Certifications Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.
OSHA 10 required.
Industry/ manufacturer certifications preferred.
MA State D-License (Required for MA Security work).
RI TST Data Licensing preferred.
Firestop Certified (Hilti or 3M) preferred.
Boom and scissor Lift Certified preferred.
Reliable transportation and a valid drivers' license required.

Comments

Must be able to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, NH, ME).
Must have a reliable form of transportation if a company vehicle is not provided.
Must be able to work off hours if/when projects require it (second, third shift and weekends).
Must be able to participate in the Service Department on-call rotation as required by SIGNET.
