Standard Nuclear is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing software tools that support the development of Standard Nuclear’s advanced systems including advanced ceramic fuel and materials manufacturing and testing modules, Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP), and Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator (RTG) systems. You will interface with the design and manufacturing teams for these advanced nuclear systems, and develop tools to monitor, track, and document core production processes. This complex, multi-disciplinary work will require outside-the-box thinking, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilites
- Develop and implement software to track inventory, document processes, and collect manufacturing parameters.
- Develop reporting tools, provide oversight to the manufacturing process and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Integrate manufacturing software with machinery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize software used in the production process.
- Communicate effectively with team members, providing updates on project progress, challenges, and potential solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in software engineering, computer science or related field.
- Proven experience in software design.
- Commitment to a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to self-motivate; proactive and independent identification, prioritization, and execution of tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and communicate technical information to teammates, leaders, high-level stakeholders, and customers.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Experience with Python and SQL.
- Experience with web frameworks such as Django.
- Familiarity with a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within a quality assurance program
- Passion for the development of advanced nuclear power systems.
